Class Organisation
Age range: 3 -11
Full time - 4 to 11 years of age. Children are admitted into full time education in the September of the school year in which they reach the age of 5.
Nursery - Children are eligible to start Nursery on the term after their 3rd Birthday.
The School Day...
Our children are organised into three separate mixed-age classes. For the academic year 2018-19 our class organisation is:
Class 1. Year 1, Reception (EYFS), Nursery
Class 2. Years 2 & 3
Class 3. Years 4, 5 & 6
Children arrive in school from 8.30am through the main entrance and settle quickly into either a morning task in their classrooms or outdoor play with a member of staff. Registration takes place at 9.00am. We offer 30 hours funded Nursery provision.
All the children enjoy breaktime at the same time between 10.30am and 10.50am.
Each morning we have an assembly in the Year 3 Classroom. Every Friday we have a Celebration Assembly where we celebrate birthday and any achievements.
Lunch begins at 12.00 noon. The children eat in Class 3 and Nursery. All meals are cooked freshly on site and many choose to have a school dinner, although a packed lunch from home is also permitted and all children sit together.
Our afternoon session begins at 1pm. (Key Stage 1 children have an afternoon playtime), and school closes for the day at 3.15pm. Children are taken to the main gate to meet their parents at the end of the day. Many of our children enjoy attending Tracy’s After School Club. Alternatively, we also offer a range of after-school extra-curricular activities for the children to enjoy around the year.
